The urgency of Nas’ “NY State of Mind” draws me in every time.
Funny thing about NY State of Mind is that I have been to a lot of shows. A lot. Like…a lot. And I live in NYC. So when I hear the initial beat drop in NY State of Mind, in my head I hear a lot of male voices going “OOOOOHHHHHH!!!” That track gets the crowd hyped up. Especially if Primo is DJing.

The West Wing is one of those shows where I’m kicking myself because I didnt catch on sooner but, at the same damn time, Im happy I get to discover it while the rest of the world saw it already and doesnt get to experience it for the first time.
It’s how I wish I could feel when I watch other people discover The Wire or Buffy or SOA for the first time.
